CAIRO – 8 May 2026: The Egyptian Meteorological Authority forecasts a slight rise in temperatures across most parts of the country on Friday, May 8.
Early morning weather will be cool to cold, while daytime temperatures will range from warm to hot across most regions, with very hot conditions expected in Upper Egypt. Nighttime temperatures will remain cool to cold.
Fog is expected between 4:00 a.m. and 8:00 a.m. on some roads leading to and from northern Egypt, including Greater Cairo, the Suez Canal cities, northern Upper Egypt, and central Sinai. The fog may become dense at times on certain roads.
Wind speeds are expected to range between 30 and 34 km/h across most parts of the country at intermittent intervals.
Maritime navigation is expected to be disrupted in some areas along the Red Sea coast and in the Gulfs of Suez and Aqaba due to wind speeds reaching 60 to 70 km/h and wave heights ranging from 2.5 to 3.5 meters.
There is also a slight chance of low clouds forming over scattered areas from northern Egypt to Greater Cairo and the Suez Canal cities, which may result in light and insignificant drizzle in some areas.
