CAIRO – 6 May 2026: The Egyptian Meteorological Authority forecasts a slight rise in temperatures across most of the country for Thursday, May 7. The weather is expected to be cool to cold in the early morning, transitioning to warm or hot during the day, before returning to cool or cold conditions at night.
Dense fog is expected between 4:00 AM and 8:00 AM on several major roads leading to and from northern Egypt. Areas likely to be affected include Greater Cairo, the Suez Canal cities, northern Upper Egypt, and central Sinai. Travelers are advised to exercise caution, as visibility may be significantly reduced.
Wind speeds across most of the country are expected to range between 30 and 35 km/h intermittently.
However, the EMA warns of rough seas along the Red Sea coast, as well as the Gulfs of Suez and Aqaba. In these maritime areas, wind speeds could reach between 40 and 70 km/h, with wave heights oscillating between 2 and 3.5 meters.
There is a slight possibility of low clouds forming over scattered areas from northern Egypt to Greater Cairo and the Suez Canal cities. This cloud cover may result in light, insignificant drizzle in localized areas.
