CAIRO – 6 May 2026: The United Arab Emirates issued a strong condemnation of recent statements from the Iranian Ministry of Foreign Affairs, categorically rejecting any claims or threats that infringe upon its sovereignty, national security, or independence.

According to a report by the Emirates News Agency (WAM) on Wednesday, the UAE Ministry of Foreign Affairs emphasized that its international defense partnerships are matters of pure sovereignty. The Ministry asserted that no external party has the right to use these relations as a pretext for threats, interference, or incitement.

"Any discourse that includes a direct or indirect threat to the security of the state—including its civilian facilities, citizens, residents, and visitors—is unacceptable," the statement read. The Ministry further noted that such rhetoric contradicts the principles of good neighborliness, international law, and the Charter of the United Nations.

The UAE Ministry of Foreign Affairs stressed that the nation retains all sovereign, legal, diplomatic, and military rights to respond to any hostile acts. It concluded by stating that attempts to exert pressure or promote biased claims would not deter the UAE from protecting its supreme national interests or maintaining its independence of decision.
