CAIRO - 6 May 2026: On Wednesday, Badr Abdel Aty, Minister of Foreign Affairs, International Cooperation, and Egyptians Abroad, received a phone call from Mr. Günter Zauter, German National Security Advisor.
During the call, Minister Abdel-Aty praised the distinguished relations between Egypt and Germany in various fields, noting the shared desire to elevate the level of bilateral cooperation, reflecting the depth of relations between the two friendly countries. He also emphasized the importance of continuing to support and strengthen this partnership in the coming period in the economic and commercial spheres.
The call addressed the rapid regional developments, during which the Foreign Minister briefed his German counterpart on Egypt’s efforts aimed at de-escalating tensions and containing the situation, stressing the utmost importance of continuing the negotiation process between the United States and Iran, and emphasizing that dialogue and diplomatic solutions represent the only way to address all concerns.
For his part, the German official commended Egypt’s role in supporting security and stability in the region and its efforts to contain regional escalation, expressing his country’s aspiration to strengthen bilateral relations with Egypt and develop them to broader horizons, and to continue consultation and coordination between the two countries in a manner that serves their mutual interests.
