CAIRO - 6 May 2026: As part of the state's efforts to provide the utmost comfort and safety for Egyptian citizens during the Hajj pilgrimage, the Assistant Minister of Interior for Administrative Affairs and Head of the Executive Body of the Ministerial Committee for Hajj announced a comprehensive and intensive plan to ensure the medical well-being of the pilgrims selected by lottery.
He emphasized that the Ministry has developed detailed scenarios to guarantee the safety of all pilgrims from the moment they arrive in the Holy Land.
Comprehensive Government Coordination for Pilgrim Care
The head of the mission confirmed that high-level coordination has taken place with the Ministry of Health and Population to utilize all available resources and provide appropriate medical care befitting Egyptian pilgrims.
He pointed out that the cooperation between the Ministries of Interior and Health aims to create a safe and healthy environment, allowing pilgrims to focus on performing their rituals and acts of worship without worrying about any health issues.
Map of Clinic Distribution in Mecca and Medina
The Assistant Minister of Interior revealed the establishment of a comprehensive medical system comprising 18 specialized clinics. Fifteen clinics are located within pilgrims' hotels in Mecca, and three in Medina hotels.
The locations of these clinics were carefully selected to be close to all pilgrim accommodations. They are equipped with the latest medical equipment and all necessary medications and supplies to address various medical conditions.
Mobile Medical Services for the Elderly
In a humanitarian gesture reflecting the Ministry of Interior's concern for special needs, a medical team from the Ministry's Medical Services Sector has been assigned to accompany the pilgrims.
This team's primary mission is to provide immediate medical care to elderly pilgrims directly at their residences in both Mecca and Medina, thus sparing them the hardship of travel and ensuring they receive the necessary care as quickly as possible.
