CAIRO - 5 May 2026: Minister of Foreign Affairs, International Cooperation, and Egyptian Expatriates Badr Abdelatty emphasized the importance the ministry places on parliamentary diplomacy in light of the significant role Egyptian diplomacy plays in supporting national principles and strengthening ties with parliaments around the world, especially amid the political and economic challenges the region is facing.
Abdelatty made the remarks during a meeting on Tuesday with Senate Speaker Essam El-Din Farid.
During the meeting, the Foreign Minister also stressed commitment to continue coordination with Senate members regarding the recommendations issued by the various specialized committees, as well as consular requests, highlighting the great importance the Ministry of Foreign Affairs attaches to providing the highest level of service to citizens in accordance with the presidential directives.
Abdelatty expressed aspiration to continue close cooperation between the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and the Senate, in a way that strengthens Egypt’s efforts across various fields and serves the interests of the nation.
He pointed out the importance of enhancing cooperation with both the Senate and the House of Representatives to exchange views on Egyptian foreign policy, discuss regional challenges, and address priority issues concerning Egyptians abroad, as well as support the national development and economic progress.
