Egypt’s FM participates in Arab Fund for Economic and Social Development Board meeting

CAIRO – 4 May 2026: Minister of Foreign Affairs, International Cooperation, and Egyptians Abroad, Badr Abdelatty, participated in a virtual meeting of the Board of Governors of the Arab Fund for Economic and Social Development on Monday, in his capacity as Egypt's Governor to the Fund.

The Minister’s participation aimed to strengthen development cooperation with regional partners and advance Arab economic integration efforts. During the meeting, Abdelatty delivered a speech emphasizing that the gathering reflects the vital importance of joint Arab cooperation and a firm belief in the necessity of collective action to confront global development challenges.

He commended the Arab Fund as one of the most significant financial institutions supporting sustainable development, praising its positive financial results and the growth in its assets and reserves. He noted that these achievements reflect a strong financial position and high operational efficiency despite current global economic turmoil.

Furthermore, the Foreign Minister expressed pride in the long-standing cooperative relationship between Egypt and the Arab Fund. This partnership has supported numerous strategic development projects in vital sectors such as renewable energy and infrastructure, significantly bolstering national development efforts.

He also highlighted that the partnership has transcended traditional financing models, becoming a benchmark for constructive cooperation that aligns with the priorities of Egypt's Vision 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development.

The Minister concluded his remarks by reaffirming Egypt's aspiration to build upon the achievements of this fruitful partnership. He called for strengthening cooperation frameworks in the coming phase to meet the aspirations of Arab peoples for greater prosperity and to enhance the capacity of joint Arab institutions to respond effectively to both current and future challenges.
