CAIRO – 29 April 2026: Egypt’s Minister of Foreign Affairs, International Cooperation, and Egyptians Abroad, Badr Abdelatty, received Omar Mohanna, Chairman of the Board of Directors of the American Chamber of Commerce in Cairo, and Eng. Tarek Tawfik, the Chamber's former Chairman and current Board Member, on Wednesday.

The meeting followed the return of the Chamber's delegation from Washington, D.C., where they participated in the Chamber's regularly organized business outreach program. Discussions focused on the longstanding economic partnership between Egypt and the United States, which remains a cornerstone of the strategic relationship between the two nations.

In this context, the Foreign Minister emphasized the importance of strengthening economic, trade, and investment cooperation with the U.S. He commended the outcomes of the business outreach program and its role in enhancing communication between the business communities of both countries.

He also highlighted the success of the Egyptian-American Economic Forum hosted by Cairo in May 2025. That event saw broad participation from major American companies and contributed to bolstering cooperation between the government and the private sector.

Minister Abdelatty expressed his anticipation for the second edition of the forum later this year, which aims to further strengthen institutional partnerships and open new avenues for investment.

Furthermore, Minister Abdelatty stressed that the next phase of cooperation aims to deepen ties between the Egyptian and American business communities across several promising sectors. Key areas of focus include industry, logistics, energy, digital infrastructure, pharmaceutical industries, health systems, and tourism. These efforts are expected to attract increased investment, boost exports, and create new job opportunities.
