CAIRO - 29 April 2026: Minister of Foreign Affairs, International Cooperation and Egyptian Expatriates Badr Abdelatty and Minister of Housing, Utilities and Urban Communities Randa el Menshawy emphasized the importance of continuing joint coordination to support the development of shared initiatives that help facilitate Egyptians abroad in accessing government services and enhance their participation in national projects. This, in turn, strengthens their connection to the homeland, attracts more investments, and advances sustainable development goals.
This came during the foreign minister’s reception Wednesday of the housing minister, within the framework of coordination among state institutions to strengthen national efforts in serving Egyptians abroad and supporting comprehensive development plans, as well as enhancing the role of Egyptian companies in African countries.
The meeting addressed ways to strengthen joint cooperation between the two ministries to support national efforts aimed at developing initiatives and improving the quality of services provided to Egyptians abroad, through greater integration between the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and the development initiatives of the Ministry of Housing.
During the meeting, the foreign minister reviewed ongoing efforts to enhance communication channels with Egyptians abroad through digital platforms and smart applications, making it easier to access government services and ensuring prompt responses to their inquiries and needs, in addition to organizing events and initiatives aimed at strengthening their ties to the homeland.
The meeting also addressed the joint initiative between the Ministries of Foreign Affairs and Housing to support Egyptians abroad, including the “Your Home in Egypt” initiative, which aims to provide opportunities for Egyptians living abroad to own housing units. This contributes to strengthening their ties to the homeland and boosting their investments in the Egyptian real estate market.
The two ministers also reviewed the vital role played by Egyptian companies in the African continent, particularly in construction and infrastructure sectors. These companies have achieved notable successes that reflect distinguished Egyptian expertise and support the state’s direction toward strengthening economic and developmental cooperation with African countries.
They affirmed their aspiration to continue coordination between the two ministries in a way that enables an active and constructive role in supporting brotherly African nations.
