CAIRO - 28 April 2026: Minister of Foreign Affairs, International Cooperation and Expatriates Affairs Badr Abdelatty discussed on Tuesday, April 28, 2026, regional developments, including the US-Iran negotiations, during phone calls held over the past 24 hours with Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister of Jordan Ayman Safadi, Omani Foreign Minister Badr al Busaidi, German Foreign Minister Johann Wadephul, and UK Foreign Secretary Yvette Cooper.

 

During the phone calls, Abdelatty briefed his counterparts on intensive efforts carried out by Egypt recently.

 

The top diplomats exchanged views on the rapidly evolving developments in the region and stressed the importance of intensifying efforts to support the US-Iran negotiation track and ongoing endeavors to reach a political settlement away from the s war.

 

They underscored the importance of adhering to a negotiation-based approach and to continue efforts aimed at reaching understandings among the concerned parties in a way that would contribute to solidifying the ceasefire, end the war, and ease regional tensions.

 

For their part, the top diplomats commended the constructive role played by Egypt in coordination with regional and international partners in de-escalating tensions in the region.

 

They agreed to maintain coordination and consultations, emphasizing that diplomatic solutions remain the optimal choice to support security and stability in the region and beyond.
