CAIRO - 27 April 2026: President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi received  Nikolai Patrushev, Assistant to the President of the Russian Federation and Chairman of the Russian Maritime Board, in a high-level meeting attended by Lieutenant General Kamel El-Wazir, Minister of Transport, and Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation, Badr Abdelatty.

 

The meeting was also attended by Ambassador Faiza Abou el-Naga, Assistant to the President for National Security Affairs, alongside a senior Russian delegation including Yuri Matveev, Charge d'Affaires of the Russian Embassy in Cairo, and Sergey Vakhrukov, Director of the National Maritime Policy Department at the Russian Presidency.

 

Ambassador Mohamed El-Shennawy, the official spokesperson for the Egyptian Presidency, stated that President El-Sisi welcomed Patrushev and his accompanying delegation, expressing Egypt’s deep appreciation for the strategic partnership with the Russian Federation.

 

The President also conveyed his great esteem for Russian President Vladimir Putin, emphasizing the strength of the ties between the two nations.

 

During the discussions, President El-Sisi praised the growing momentum in bilateral relations, particularly in the fields of trade exchange and joint developmental projects. He specifically highlighted the El-Dabaa Nuclear Power Plant project and the establishment of a Russian Industrial Zone within the Suez Canal Economic Zone.

 

The President noted that these flagship projects reflect the unique depth and special character of the Egyptian-Russian relationship, which continues to expand across various vital sectors.
