Grand Imam heads urgent MCE session on Al Aqsa in Abu Dhabi

CAIRO – 30 July 2017: The Muslim Council of Elders (MCE) emergency meeting, headed by al-Azhar Grand Imam Ahmed al-Tayeb, will kick off on Monday in Abu Dhabi to discuss the latest Zionist violations in Jerusalem, according to a statement from Al-Azhar Sheikhdom on Sunday.

The Grand Imam was received by Minister of Higher Education Ahmed Bahloul Al-Falasi, Secretary-General of MCE Ali Al-Naimi, and Chairman of the General Authority for Islamic Affairs and Endowments in Abu Dhabi Mohammad Matar Al-Kaabi.

Based on the main role entrusted to the council, working towards achieving and spreading peace among all people, the Grand Imam invited all members of the Council to attend this urgent meeting to discuss ways to stop the violations of the Zionist occupation against Al Aqsa mosque.

Al-Tayeb will emphasize the role of scholars in the preservation of holy Islamic sites like Al-Aqsa and the need to ensure the sanctity of Jerusalem from abuse and brutal attacks.
