CAIRO – 26 April 2026: President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi approved the comprehensive development plan for the second phase of the Monte Galala project in Galala City, undertaken in partnership with the private sector.
President El-Sisi met on Sunday with Lieutenant General Ashraf Salem Zaher, Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces and Minister of Defense and Military Production; Major General Amir Sayed Ahmed, Advisor to the President for Urban Planning; Lieutenant General Ahmed El-Shazly, Advisor to the President for Financial Affairs; Major General Mahmoud Rizk, Chairman of the Board of Directors of the National Authority for Management and Investment; and Dr. Ahmed Shalaby, CEO of Tatweer Misr.
The official spokesperson for the Presidency Ambassador Mohamed El-Shenawy stated that the meeting included a presentation of the comprehensive development plan for Galala City for the next four years, within the framework of planning for the city's operation.
The President also reviewed the progress of ongoing projects in Galala City, which serves as Egypt's new waterfront on the Red Sea coast. He emphasized the importance of completing the projects as per the highest international standards and within the specified timeframes, in line with the state's vision to establish a comprehensive global economic system in the region. This aligns with the exceptional location and will positively impact investment, tourism, and job creation, contributing to the comprehensive development of this vital area.
Furthermore, President El-Sisi directed the modification of the Ain Sokhna/Zaafarana road route to prevent traffic accidents and the construction of several tourist residential towers directly on the Red Sea coast. Additionally, he directed the establishment of a service marina for the area; hotels with economic, medical, and educational facilities; and floating docks to attract international companies, thus transforming the region into an international trade hub. The President also emphasized the importance of establishing an integrated residential area for the city's workers, encompassing housing, schools, and all necessary services.
On February 10, 2026, Prime Minister Mostafa Madbouly witnessed the launch of the "Il Monte Galala Towers and Marina" project in Ain Sokhna, marking a major milestone in Egypt’s strategy to transform the Red Sea coast into a year-round investment hub.
The project, developed by Tatweer Misr, represents a total investment of approximately LE 52 billion ($1 billion). Speaking at the New Administrative Capital, Madbouly described the development as a prime example of the state’s commitment to empowering the private sector. "This project is a model for partnership between the state and private enterprise, aligning with Egypt's Vision 2030 to expand urban development and reach 30 million tourists annually," the Prime Minister said.
