CAIRO - 22 April 2026: Since assuming his position at the National Media Authority, writer Ahmed El-Moslemany has been committed to restoring Al-Qur'an Al-Karim Radio's [Muslim religious broadcasting] distinction through a number of impactful steps aimed at reviving its golden age.
These steps include seven major initiatives:
First: Eliminating advertisements on Al-Qur'an Al-Karim Radio to restore its sanctity.
Second: Refining the recitation schedule and allocating the main airtime around the clock to renowned and senior reciters.
Third: Adding nearly a thousand new recitations that have never been broadcast before. These were donated by the reciters' families to the National Media Authority.
Fourth: Resuming outside broadcasts of Al-Qur'an Al-Karim Radio during Fajr and Taraweeh prayers, as well as numerous religious and intellectual events.
Fifth: Completing Al-Qur'an Al-Karim website and mobile application, with download requests exceeding 92 million in the first few days following President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi's official launch of the site and application.
Sixth: A site has been allocated for the Museum of Reciters in Maspero, which will house the belongings of prominent reciters. The museum will open soon and is affiliated with the Holy Qur'an Radio Network.
Seventh: The preparation of the Musnad of Imam al-Layth ibn Sa'd under the supervision of the Holy Qur'an Radio.
Establishing the Holy Quran Radio
The Egyptian Holy Quran Radio is a station dedicated to broadcasting the Holy Quran and Islamic programs.
It began broadcasting on March 25, 1964. Among its most famous reciters are: Abdul Basit Abdul Samad, Mustafa Ismail, Mahmoud Khalil Al-Husari, Muhammad Rifat, Muhammad Siddiq Al-Minshawi, and Mahmoud Ali Al-Banna.
It broadcasts on FM 98.2 in Greater Cairo.
