Foreign Ministry: UAE medical report confirms death of Diaa El-Awady was natural

CAIRO – 21 April 2026: Egypt’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs announced on Tuesday that the death of Dr. Diaa El-Awady was due to natural causes, according to the medical report issued by UAE authorities. The report confirmed that there are no criminal suspicions surrounding his passing.

In its official statement, the Ministry noted that it has been closely monitoring the circumstances surrounding the death of Egyptian citizen Diaa El-Din Shalaby Mohamed El-Awady, which occurred several days ago at a hotel in Dubai. The Egyptian Consulate General in Dubai has since received the formal medical report, which attributes the death to a sudden heart attack.

The Consular Affairs Department of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs has informed the family of the deceased regarding the findings of the report. Currently, the Consulate General in Dubai is finalizing the necessary administrative procedures to repatriate the body to Egypt as soon as possible.
