CAIRO – 21 April 2026: The Council of the League of Arab States adopted Resolution No. 9245 during an extraordinary ministerial-level meeting held via videoconference on Tuesday to discuss the repercussions of recent Iranian attacks on several Arab nations.
The Council strongly condemned the attacks launched by Iran using ballistic missiles and drones, characterizing them as a flagrant violation of the sovereignty of Arab states and a clear breach of international law and the Charter of the United Nations.
The Council emphasized that any attack on an Arab state is considered an attack on all member states, affirming its full solidarity with the affected countries, including the UAE, Saudi Arabia, Bahrain, Jordan, and Iraq.
The resolution called on Iran to immediately comply with UN Security Council resolutions—particularly Resolution 2817—and to cease all attacks that threaten regional peace and security. Furthermore, the Council affirmed Iran's responsibility for the damages and losses resulting from these actions, emphasizing the necessity of reparations in accordance with international law.
The resolution specifically noted the targeting of civilian facilities and vital infrastructure, including airports, oil installations, and water and food facilities, describing such acts as serious violations of international humanitarian law.
