Egypt’s FM receives French Foreign Ministry secretary-general, praises partnership

CAIRO - 20 April 2026: Minister of Foreign Affairs Badr Abdelatty received Ambassador Martin Briens, Secretary-General of the French Ministry of Foreign Affairs, on Monday to mark the first round of the Egypt-France Strategic Dialogue.

In a Monday statement, the ministry said Abdelatty praised the depth of the strategic partnership between the two friendly nations and expressed his aspirations to strengthen cooperation across various sectors.

The meeting also addressed regional developments in the Middle East. Abdelatty briefed the French official on Egypt's tireless efforts to support the negotiation track between the United States and Iran, emphasizing the necessity of concerted regional and international efforts to reduce escalation and end the war.
