CAIRO - 20 April 2026: Massad Boulos, senior advisor to the U.S. President for Arab and African Affairs, described his visit to Egypt and meeting with President Abdel Fattah el-Sisi as a "privilege," emphasizing the strategic depth of Cairo-Washington relations.
Boulos stated on X that he conveyed President Trump’s appreciation for Egypt’s "essential role" as a key U.S. ally and a cornerstone of regional stability during his Cairo visit.
The discussions highlighted a shared American-Egyptian vision regarding the Sudanese conflict.
Boulos noted that both nations are committed to addressing the humanitarian crisis by pursuing a humanitarian truce and a comprehensive peace plan agreed upon by all parties.
On the Libyan front, Boulos affirmed that the U.S. and Egypt will continue to support the Libyan people in building unified institutions and moving toward elections under the facilitation of the United Nations mission.
The senior advisor also highlighted President Sisi’s welcoming of the ceasefire in Lebanon and his support for President Trump’s efforts to establish a lasting peace.
Boulos concluded by stressing the importance of further strengthening economic and trade ties between the two nations.
