CAIRO - April 2026: Egypt’s Foreign Minister Badr Abdelatty is closely following the case of the death of Egyptian doctor Diaa Al-Awadi in Dubai, as efforts continue to clarify the circumstances surrounding the incident.

 

Abdelatty has instructed the Egyptian Consulate General in Dubai to maintain continuous communication with the relevant UAE authorities to monitor developments and oversee the necessary procedures. He also directed officials to expedite the repatriation of the body to Egypt.

 

The ministry is coordinating with the deceased’s family and their legal representative to ensure all consular steps are completed. In this context, Ambassador Haddad El-Gohary, Assistant Foreign Minister for Consular Affairs, is expected to receive the victim’s wife and family members at the ministry’s headquarters to finalize the required procedures.

 

The ministry also expressed its condolences to the family and affirmed its commitment to following the case until all related procedures are fully completed.
