WASHINGTON – 17 April 2026: President Donald Trump on Friday said the United States has banned Israel from bombing Lebanon, a day after he announced a 10-day ceasefire that paused deadly Israeli strikes on the country.

Israel has been carrying out strikes on Lebanon, including Beirut and other areas, since the US-Iran war – currently paused by a two-week ceasefire – broke out on February 28.

The Israeli strikes have killed nearly 2,200 people and injured more than 7,000, according to the Lebanese Ministry of Public Health.

“Israel will not be bombing Lebanon any longer. They are PROHIBITED from doing so by the U.S.A. Enough is enough!!!” Trump wrote on his Truth Social.
