Alexandria, Sichuan universities announce joint collaboration in liver surgery, transplantation

CAIRO - 15 April 2026: Alexandria University announced a joint collaboration with Sichuan University, and West China Hospital in China, which specializes in liver surgery and transplantation.

1- The cooperation includes organizing joint workshops on advanced techniques in liver, gallbladder, and pancreas surgeries, as well as liver transplantation.

 

2- Discussing the mechanisms for introducing robotic surgery.

 

3- Performing remote surgeries.

 

4- Chinese experts will perform a number of surgeries at Al-Mowasat University Hospital.

 

5- Using 3D endoscopy technology to treat liver tumors.

 

6- Applying ICG contrast dye for the first time in Egypt.

 

7- Achieving a qualitative leap in the level of surgical services provided.

 

Sichuan University and West China Hospital are among the most prominent academic and medical institutions in China in the fields of medical education, scientific research, and international publications.
