CAIRO – 15 April 2026: President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi stressed the importance of continuing efforts to develop companies and factories affiliated with the Ministry of State for Military Production, highlighting their vital role in supporting the national economy.

El-Sisi made the remarks during a meeting on Wednesday with Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces and Minister of Defense and Military Production Lieutenant General Ashraf Salem Zaher, and Minister of State for Military Production Salah Soliman.

The president reviewed the progress of projects being implemented by military production companies and their affiliated units, as well as plans to develop defense industries.

The discussions also covered the manufacturing, technological, and technical capabilities of these entities, along with available resources, in a way that supports meeting the armed forces’ needs for various military products.

El-Sisi stressed the pivotal role of military production companies in developing defense products to meet the requirements of the armed forces.

Investments, Localization

The president also reviewed efforts by the Ministry of State for Military Production to attract more domestic and foreign investments across various sectors and to strengthen partnerships with the private sector.

He further reviewed the ministry’s efforts to further localize national industries by leveraging artificial intelligence and modern technologies.

El-Sisi underscored the need for increasing local manufacturing share, and establishing strategic partnerships with major global specialized companies to acquire and localize advanced technology in Egypt.

The meeting also reviewed plans to enhance the capabilities of military production companies and improve operational efficiency by upgrading digital infrastructure, utilizing AI applications, and expanding training programs in cooperation with Egyptian universities, research centers, and specialized academies.

El-Sisi underscored the need to invest in human capital within the military production sector, adhere to quality and industrial safety standards, and continue improving performance through the adoption of the latest technologies and enhanced operational efficiency.
