Egypt's First lady congratulates Egyptians on Sham el-Nessim

CAIRO - 13 April 2026: First Lady Mrs. Entissar El-Sisi extended her congratulations to the Egyptian people on the occasion of Sham el-Nessim.

 

Mrs. El-Sisi wrote on her official Facebook page: "On the occasion of Sham el-Nessim, I congratulate the people of Egypt, hoping that this day brings joy and happiness to all. May you all be well every year, and may Egypt always be in good and prosperity."

 

 

 

Sham el-Nessim literally translates to "smelling the breeze" in Arabic and is an ancient Egyptian spring festival, which is celebrated by all Egyptians on the Monday following Coptic Easter.
