CAIRO – 13 April 2026: Egypt’s President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi directed the government on Monday to expedite the submission of draft laws concerning the Egyptian family to Parliament. The legislative package includes the Muslim Family Law, the Christian Family Law, and the Family Support Fund.

The President emphasized that these drafts have been in preparation for some time and are designed to provide comprehensive solutions to the problems arising from existing legislation. He noted that the new laws were developed in close consultation with scholars and specialists to ensure they address modern societal needs.
