CAIRO - 13 April 2026: Ambassador Ahmed Hafez, Egypt’s Ambassador to Canada, officially inaugurated the Egyptian pavilion at the 29th edition of the Ottawa Travel and Vacation Show.
The two-day event, held in the Canadian capital, brought together global travel leaders and enthusiasts.
The Egyptian Ministry of Tourism and Antiquities, represented by the Egyptian General Authority for Tourism Promotion, participated in the exhibition. The pavilion was supervised by Wael Mansour, the authority’s representative.
Hafez and members of the Egyptian Embassy engaged actively with Canadian visitors and travel agents. The exhibition featured over 150 exhibitors representing 50 countries, alongside various Canadian provinces and local travel companies.
The Egyptian pavilion witnessed significant turnout, where visitors explored Egypt’s diverse tourism offerings. Highlights included cultural tourism, beach destinations, and the growing sectors of eco-tourism and medical tourism.
This participation is part of Egypt’s broader strategy to strengthen its presence in international markets and open new avenues for tourism cooperation with Canada. Such efforts aim to boost the national economy by increasing the flow of inbound tourism from North America.
