CAIRO – 12 April 2026: The local council of the Egyptian city of Ras El-Bar, Damietta Governorate [Delta], issued an important advisory to residents and visitors ahead of Sham El-Nessim celebrations [the festival marking the beginning of spring] due on April 13, urging them to refrain from going into the sea for their safety.

In a statement released by its Public Relations Department, the council explained that the warning is due to the absence of lifeguard towers and rescue teams on the beaches, as the summer season has not yet officially begun and beach services are not fully operational.

The council emphasized the importance of exercising caution and adhering to all instructions and safety guidelines to prevent accidents and ensure public safety.
