CAIRO – 10 April 2026: The Kuwait Civil Aviation Authority has denied the validity of a widely circulated announcement regarding the resumption of flights from Kuwait International Airport.
The Authority confirmed that no official approvals have been issued and that the airport has remained closed since February 28 due to the ongoing political and security situation in the region.
Abdullah Al-Rajhi, spokesperson for the Kuwait Civil Aviation Authority, stated that officials detected an announcement circulating on social media—purportedly from an airline—containing false information regarding the resumption of services.
Al-Rajhi clarified that these reports are entirely incorrect. He emphasized that as of today, no official approvals for reopening have been granted.
He stressed the importance of verifying information through official and accredited sources, urging the public not to be misled by rumors or unreliable news on social media platforms. He reaffirmed the General Authority of Civil Aviation’s commitment to transparency and its dedication to keeping the public informed of all developments through its official channels.
The Kuwaiti General Authority of Civil Aviation initially announced the temporary closure of Kuwaiti airspace to all aircraft and passengers on February 28. The Authority noted at the time that the decision was part of a framework of precautionary measures aimed at preserving the safety of passengers and airlines, and protecting operational processes at Kuwait International Airport from potential risks associated with the regional security climate.
