CAIRO - 9 April 2026: Egypt will launch the first board for Interventional Neurology within two months, according to Dr. Mohamed Latif, CEO of the Egyptian Health Council.
Dr. Latif made the announcement during the 9th International Stroke Conference and the 1st National Stroke Network Conference.
In his speech, Dr. Latif stated that the effectiveness of stroke treatment depends on the timely intervention that can easily save patients' lives and prevent disability.
Dr. Latif thanked the scientific committee that prepared the project, explaining that the Health Council is launching this two-year specialized board, which will accept specialists holding a doctorate and Egyptian fellowship in neurology, interventional radiology, and neurosurgery.
Applications will open within two months, and the centers have been fully prepared and equipped.
This board will train numerous individuals for Egypt and the Arab world, making it the first of its kind in the Middle East and Africa.
