CAIRO - 6 April 2026: Minister of State for Military Production, Salah Suleiman Gomblat met with the CEO of the Micro, Small and Medium Enterprise Development Agency (MSMEDA), Basel Rahmi and his accompanying delegation, to discuss ways to strengthen joint cooperation across various manufacturing sectors.
The meeting took place at the Ministry’s headquarters within the Training Sector in Al-Salam City.
The Minister stated that the meeting comes within the framework of the state’s commitment to creating job opportunities and increasing the productivity of the Egyptian workforce, contributing to strengthening the national economy and reducing the import bill.
Gomblat reviewed the technological and manufacturing capabilities of the Ministry’s affiliated companies, as well as the industrial sectors open for cooperation.
He highlighted efforts to support youth-led projects through coordination with MSMEDA to establish small and medium-sized industries, starting from providing suitable facilities and setting up factories, to supplying production lines and necessary equipment.
He also noted the possibility of offering technical consultations and conducting feasibility studies.
He added that various forms of support could be extended to project owners, including vocational, administrative, and technical training. This would be delivered either through the Ministry’s Training Sector or via mobile training units, which have previously demonstrated success in collaboration with civil society organizations.
He also pointed to the mobile units project, manufactured by the Armored Vehicles Production and Repair Factory (Factory 200), as a promising initiative.
For his part, MSMEDA CEO Basel Rahmi affirmed the agency’s commitment to activating all avenues of cooperation with the Ministry of Military Production and leveraging its extensive expertise in manufacturing, technical support, and training to bolster the MSME sector.
Rahmi further noted the potential for cooperation in delivering specialized training programs for industrial project owners to help them develop and scale their businesses.
He emphasized the importance of utilizing the Ministry’s capabilities to support entrepreneurs in transforming ideas into viable enterprises, including the provision of dedicated industrial production lines that ensure product quality and meet local market needs.
He also highlighted the possibility of expanding support for successful MSME models across various productive sectors through cooperation with the Ministry’s factories to supply integrated production lines and train entrepreneurs in their use, serving as a national alternative to importing equipment from abroad.
At the end of the visit, Rahmi toured the Ministry’s Training Sector facilities and the Scientific and Technological Excellence Center, praising the advanced infrastructure and modern training programs, which he described as an ideal model for supporting youth projects and entrepreneurship.
