CAIRO – 30 July 2017: The law enforcement forces of the Second Field Army have ceased large smuggling operation in one of the Suez Canal crossings to Northern Sinai, stressed the spokesperson of the Armed Forces Colonel Tamer al-Refai on Sunday, July 30.

The law enforcement forces of the Second Army, continuing their efforts to ensure security on roads and crossings to destroy takfiri and criminal elements, have carried out their missions in Arish, Rafah and Sheikh Zuweid to destroy the rest of terrorist sites and to uproot terrorism from Northern Sinai.

On Monday, the forces discovered and destroyed several dens used by Takfiri elements for hiding, said Refai at a press conference.

In cooperation with Civil Police, the law enforcement forces of the Second Field Army have implement planned missions to eradicate terrorism from Sinai.

Islamist insurgency, led by the Islamic State terrorist group, Al-Qaeda, Al-Nusra Front and other takfiri militant groups, has waged war against Egypt in Sinai Peninsula, where hundreds of soldiers and policemen lost their lives since 2013.
