CAIRO – 4 April 2026: Iran’s Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi accused the United States and Israel of striking the Bushehr nuclear plant for the fourth time on Saturday, warning of potential regional consequences in the event of radioactive fallout.

“Israel-U.S. have bombed our Bushehr plant four times now. Radioactive fallout will end life in GCC capitals, not Tehran,” Araghchi said.

An employee at the plant was killed in today’s strike, according to Iran’s Atomic Energy Organization.

The US and Israel have not confirmed carrying out the attack until the time of writing.

The International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) the UN's nuclear watchdog, expressed “deep concern” over the reported strike, warning that nuclear power plants and their surroundings “must never be attacked.”

The IAEA stated that “no increase in radiation levels was reported.”
