CAIRO – 2 April 2026: Egypt’s Ministry of Health announced that five people were injured in separate incidents linked to severe weather conditions, including strong winds, dust storms, and falling objects. The incidents occurred between 9:00 AM on Wednesday, April 1, and 3:00 AM on Thursday.

No fatalities were recorded during this period, according to ministry spokesperson Hossam Abdel Ghaffar.

He added that ambulance services responded promptly to all reported cases, transferring the injured to hospitals for necessary medical care. The injuries ranged from bruises and abrasions to cuts and mild concussions. One patient was referred for further treatment, while the remaining cases are under observation and reported to be in stable condition.

The spokesperson also noted that incidents were reported in the governorates of Matrouh Governorate and Assiut Governorate, though no injuries were recorded in those locations.

He emphasized that all hospitals remain on high alert, with ambulances deployed along major roads and highways. The central crisis management unit is operating around the clock to ensure a rapid response to any developments.

Citizens were urged to follow safety guidelines during adverse weather conditions and to exercise caution, particularly while driving or in open areas, to ensure their safety.
