CAIRO – 1 April 2026: Egypt’s Minister of Foreign Affairs, International Cooperation, and Egyptians Abroad, Badr Abdelatty, held telephone calls on Wednesday with Hakan Fidan, Foreign Minister of Turkey; Mohammad Ishaq Dar, Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister of Pakistan; Sheikh Mohammed bin Abdulrahman Al Thani, Prime Minister and Foreign Minister of Qatar; and Dr. Abdullatif bin Rashid Al Zayani, Foreign Minister of Bahrain.
The discussions focused on the rapidly evolving regional situation and the coordination of joint efforts to reduce tensions.
The calls addressed the perilous state of the region, with all parties emphasizing the importance of continuing and intensifying diplomatic efforts to de-escalate.
In this context, the Foreign Minister stressed that further escalation threatens dire consequences for regional and international peace and security. He affirmed that prioritizing de-escalation, diplomacy, and dialogue is the only way to prevent the region from descending into widespread chaos.
Furthermore, the communications touched on the outcomes of the recent quadrilateral ministerial meeting held in the Pakistani capital, Islamabad.
The ministers exchanged views on ways to sustain efforts to end the conflict and reduce tensions, ensuring the continuity of regional and international moves aimed at establishing a foundation for stability in the region.
