CAIRO - 1 April 2026: The Council of Arab Interior Ministers on Wednesday awarded President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi the Prince Naif Award for Arab Security — Exceptional Grade, the highest security honour bestowed by the Arab world.

The medal was presented during the council’s plenary session held in Cairo. Members cited El-Sisi’s central role in advancing security cooperation across the Arab region and his leadership in tackling the mounting security challenges facing the Middle East.

The council described the award as a reflection of deep-rooted Arab solidarity and joint action. It praised the president’s efforts to protect the interests of Arab peoples and safeguard national security across the region.

The Prince Naif Medal, instituted by the Arab Interior Ministers Council in memory of the late Prince Nayef bin Abdulaziz al Saud, is awarded to leaders who have made significant contributions to the promotion of security in the Arab world.

Sisi’s recognition comes amid heightened regional tensions and ongoing efforts by Arab states to strengthen security frameworks.
