CAIRO – 1 April 2026: President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi and Iraqi Prime Minister Mohammed S. Al-Sudani held talks on Wednesday to discuss ways to bolster efforts aimed at protecting the security and sovereignty of Arab nations amid ongoing regional tensions.
El-Sisi urged coordinated regional and international efforts to halt the escalation in the Middle East, contain the repercussions of the war, prevent further instability, and avoid a descent into widespread chaos.
He reaffirmed Egypt’s support for Iraq’s security and stability, and for initiatives designed to shield Iraq from regional conflicts or tensions that could undermine its sovereignty.
For his part, Al-Sudani praised Egypt’s backing the Iraqi security and stability, highlighting measures his government has taken to safeguard the nation’s sovereignty amid regional tensions.
The president emphasized Egypt’s commitment to the security of all Arab states and its firm rejection of any infringement on their sovereignty or attempts to undermine their stability, people’s resources and territorial integrity.
El-Sisi and Al-Sudani discussed the enhancement of efforts to strengthen and protect the security, sovereignty, and stability of Arab states in the face of current challenges.
They agreed to continue consultations and coordination to enhance regional security and stability.
