Egypt’s Sisi reviews vision boosting entrepreneurial environment

CAIRO - 1 April 2026: President Abdel Fattah al-Sisi and his government reviewed a comprehensive program aimed at developing the entrepreneurship and innovation sectors.

The Wednesday meeting, which included Prime Minister Mostafa Madbouly and the ministers of finance and planning, focused on supporting startups and launching new employment initiatives to ensure economic competitiveness and sustainability, according to Presidency Spokesperson Mohamed El-Shennawy.

Sisi and the cabinet members discussed the ongoing economic reform program, emphasizing fiscal stability and private sector growth through balanced investment policies.

The talks also touched on the national development program for the post-IMF agreement phase, prioritizing the "Decent Life" (Haya Karima) initiative and the Universal Health Insurance System.

Addressing regional tensions, the officials reviewed the negative impacts of current wars on global supply chains and trade.

Sisi directed continued coordination to maintain stable markets and secure strategic stocks of basic commodities.
