CAIRO – 31 March 2026: The Ministry of Education has announced the suspension of schools and classes on Wednesday, April 1, due to expected severe weather conditions.

In an official statement, the Ministry explained that the decision was based on reports from the General Authority of Meteorology indicating that the country will experience unstable weather. These conditions are expected to include varying intensities of rain and sandstorms, which could cause inconsistent disruptions to the educational process across different governorates.

The statement further clarified that in the interest of student safety and to ensure equal opportunities—particularly during exam periods—it has been decided to close all schools on Wednesday, April 1, 2026.

Coordination with the General Authority of Meteorology will continue as officials monitor weather conditions for Thursday before making any further decisions regarding the remainder of the week.
