CAIRO - 25 March 2026: Minister of State for Military Production Salah Suleiman Gomblatt met with British Ambassador in Cairo Mark Brayson-Richardson and his accompanying delegation to discuss areas of mutual cooperation and explore strategic partnerships between Egyptian military production companies and British firms across various manufacturing sectors.
During the meeting, held at the ministry’s headquarters in the New Capital, Gomblatt highlighted the deep historical ties between Egypt and Britain and showcased the technological, manufacturing and technical capabilities of entities affiliated with the Ministry of Military Production.
The minister noted that discussions focused on establishing strategic partnerships between Egyptian military production companies and British firms in diverse manufacturing fields.
They also explored joint cooperation to utilize advanced CNC (Computer Numerical Control) machinery and production lines in the ministry’s companies for producing spare parts serving a wide range of purposes.
Gomblatt emphasized that the meeting also covered opportunities to strengthen cooperation in the education sector, particularly within the framework of the existing productive partnership between the ministry’s training sector and the British organization Pearson in technical education including exploring ways to increase student intake at military production educational institutions accredited by Pearson and developing partnerships with British entities to acquire educational expertise and implement it at the Egyptian Academy for Engineering and Advanced Technology (EAE&AT) and the technology intermediate college affiliated to the Ministry of Military Production, thereby supporting both higher education and vocational training in Egypt.
For his part, Richardson highlighted potential areas for collaboration with military production companies and units including implementing development projects that benefit Egyptian citizens.
He stressed the UK’s commitment to strengthening the long-standing relations between the two countries through bilateral cooperative partnerships across multiple sectors, contributing to sustainable development and shared prosperity
