CAIRO - 22 MARCH 2026: An Egyptian relief committee has launched a set of Eid initiatives in Gaza, distributing gifts and clothing and organizing community activities aimed at bringing small moments of joy to children living through the war.
The effort, rolled out during Eid celebrations, focused on children, including orphans and displaced families, with volunteers delivering Eid gift bags and arranging simple entertainment activities in community spaces and shelters, according to organizers.
As part of the campaign, organizers also said free transportation was provided to help families and children reach the Eid activities and community events more easily.
The committee said the idea is not only material support, but also emotional relief, creating a few hours where children can feel like Eid is still Eid, even as the humanitarian crisis continues.
The Eid activities are part of broader Egyptian-led relief operations that have been running alongside emergency aid efforts to support civilians in the Strip. Organizers said they will continue their work in the coming days, depending on access and security conditions on the ground.
The initiatives come as Gaza faces severe humanitarian pressure, with families struggling with shortages, repeated displacement and limited access to basic services.
