CAIRO - 20 March 2026: Egypt condemned in the strongest terms the "blatant Israeli aggression" against military facilities and infrastructure in southern Syria.

In a Friday statement, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs called for an immediate and full withdrawal of Israeli forces from all occupied Syrian territories.

The ministry said the strikes are a flagrant and repeated violation of Syrian sovereignty and territorial integrity. The statement further noted that the actions breach international law and the UN Charter.

Cairo warned that such "provocative practices" represent a serious disregard for regional security and stability, threatening to push the Middle East into further chaos.

Egypt renewed its call to the international community, specifically the UN Security Council, to fulfill its responsibilities and act immediately to end these violations.

The statement emphasized the necessity of forcing Israel to comply with international law to preserve regional and international peace.
