CAIRO – 19 March 2026: Egypt’s President Abdel Fattah El Sisi embarked on a tour on Thursday that included the United Arab Emirates and Qatar to affirm full solidarity and support for the sisterly GCC countries. President El-Sisi stressed Egypt’s categorical condemnation and rejection of the ‘heinous and unjustified attacks’ against the Arab countries.
The official spokesperson for the Presidency stated that the President began his visit by traveling to the United Arab Emirates, where he was received upon arrival by Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, President of the United Arab Emirates, and Ambassador Essam Ashour, Ambassador of Egypt to the UAE.
A closed bilateral meeting was then held between the President and Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed.
Ambassador Mohamed El-Shenawy, the official spokesperson, indicated that President El-Sisi began the meeting by affirming Egypt's full support for the United Arab Emirates in the current circumstances, and Egypt's backing for the measures taken by the UAE leadership to preserve the security and stability of the UAE and the interests of its brotherly people.
He emphasized Egypt's rejection and condemnation of the Iranian attacks on the UAE and other sisterly Arab states.
The President also stressed that the national security of the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) states is an extension of Egyptian national security, affirming Egypt's readiness to provide all necessary support to maintain the security and stability of the UAE and the GCC states.
He reviewed Egypt's efforts to de-escalate the situation, noting that Egypt had conveyed a clear message to the Iranian side that the Gulf states are not part of the ongoing conflict and that the Iranian attacks against them are unacceptable, unjustified, and must cease immediately.
The President also affirmed that Egypt continues its efforts to urge all parties to immediately return to the negotiating track, which is the only way to reach diplomatic solutions that preserve the stability and sovereignty of states and the resources of their people, in accordance with the established principles of international law and the Charter of the United Nations.
Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed, President of the United Arab Emirates, welcomed the President's visit, emphasizing that it reflects the close fraternal ties between the two countries. He expressed his appreciation for Egypt's unwavering support and its role in maintaining regional peace and stability. The two presidents also discussed the current state of bilateral relations and ways to advance them in various fields.
Following the meeting, Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan accompanied the President to the airport to bid him farewell.
President El-Sisi then proceeded to Qatar, where he was received upon arrival at Hamad International Airport by Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani, the Emir of the State of Qatar, as well as Ambassador Walid El-Feky and members of the Egyptian Embassy in Doha.
The official spokesperson explained that the two leaders held an expanded meeting. The President started by affirming Egypt's full support for the State of Qatar and its solidarity with all the Gulf states in confronting the reprehensible attacks on their territories. He emphasized Egypt's complete support for the measures taken by Qatar to defend its security and territorial integrity.
Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani expressed his deep appreciation for the President's visit and his keenness to maintain contact since the beginning of the current crisis. He affirmed his appreciation for Egypt's consistent support for the stability and sovereignty of Qatar and all GCC countries, noting the deep-rooted historical relations between the two countries.
In this context, the President affirmed that Egypt considers the security of the GCC states an integral part of its own national security.
The two leaders discussed a number of regional issues of mutual interest and agreed to intensify Egyptian-Qatari consultations in the coming period. Following the meeting, Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani bid farewell to President El-Sisi at Doha International Airport.
The President returned safely to Egypt on Thursday evening.
