CAIRO - 19 March 2026: A group of Palestinians returning to the Gaza Strip arrived at the main area of the Rafah Crossing from the Egyptian side.
Sources at the crossing stated that procedures for the new group are being finalized in preparation for their return to the Gaza Strip.
They added that a team from the Egyptian Red Crescent received the returning Palestinians, facilitating procedures in coordination with relevant authorities, distributing return kits, and providing psychological support to children.
Comprehensive Relief Services
Egyptian Red Crescent teams were also deployed at the Rafah Crossing on the Egyptian side to provide relief services to the Palestinians.
These services included psychological support for children, family reunification assistance, provision of warm clothing and personal hygiene items, and distribution of return kits to those returning to the Strip.
Meanwhile, Egyptian authorities are preparing to receive a group of wounded and sick Palestinians from the Gaza Strip for treatment in Egyptian hospitals.
The Egyptian Ministry of Health has established a medical point at the Rafah Crossing to examine arrivals, triage cases, and transport them to Egyptian hospitals via equipped Egyptian ambulances.
Reopening of the crossing
The Israeli occupation authorities reopened the Rafah land crossing from the Palestinian side Thursday to allow the movement of Palestinians to and from the Gaza Strip, after it had been closed for 18 days due to the Iranian war.
