CAIRO - 19 March 2026: Egypt's Health Ministry has announced a state of maximum preparedness across all hospitals and healthcare facilities in Egypt. This move is part of a comprehensive medical insurance plan designed to secure Eid Al Fitr celebrations and ensure 24 hour medical services for all citizens
The Ministry confirmed that the plan includes enhancing the readiness of reception and emergency departments Specialized medical teams nursing staff and emergency doctors are stationed at all health facilities to ensure rapid response to any urgent cases especially with the expected increase in public gatherings at parks and along major highways.
In coordination with the Egyptian Ambulance Authority a sufficient number of ambulances have been deployed to key public squares gathering areas and desert roads. Strategic ambulance points across all governorates are on high alert to guarantee the fastest possible response times to accidents or medical emergencies.
Furthermore emergency and crisis rooms at health directorates nationwide are operating around the clock to monitor the health situation and coordinate between hospitals for any necessary medical interventions.
To ensure the availability of essential treatments the Ministry is coordinating with the Egyptian Drug Authority to monitor stocks of medicines and medical supplies in hospitals and pharmacies. Special attention has been given to ensuring the availability of life saving emergency drugs alongside a thorough review of blood bag stocks and derivatives in blood banks to meet any sudden requirements.
The Ministry of Health has also mandated intensified inspection campaigns on markets and food establishments during the Eid period These efforts conducted in cooperation with relevant authorities aim to ensure food safety and prevent any instances of food poisoning or foodborne diseases.
Citizens are encouraged to follow healthy behaviors during the celebrations such as moderate food consumption after Ramadan and avoiding excessive intake of sweets and fatty foods that may cause digestive issues or sudden spikes in blood sugar levels.
The Central Operations Room at the Ministry will remain in continuous session throughout the Eid holidays to oversee the implementation of the medical insurance plan and address any emergency reports immediately.
