CAIRO – 18 March 2026: Egypt’s Minister of State for Information, Diaa Rashwan, affirmed that Egypt has repeatedly and unequivocally declared its complete solidarity with the Arab countries targeted by the Iranian aggression.
He emphasized in statements on Wednesday that this solidarity is not mere rhetoric. “We are talking about the Gulf states, where Egyptians have resided for decades. Similarly, there are large Arab communities in Egypt. For example, the Saudi community in Egypt is the largest, 10 to 12 times larger than the Saudi community in the United States. The same applies to the UAE and Jordan."
The Egyptian minister continued, noting that the relations between Egypt and the Gulf states are not new or recent. All Egyptian constitutions since 1952, up to and including the 2014 constitution, affirm that Egypt is part of the Arab world.
He stressed the continuous communication between Egypt and all Arab countries and that there is no conflict or contradiction between Egypt and its Arab brothers.
Rashwan emphasized that there are many levels of Egyptian support, starting with military support, which the Foreign Minister discussed in statements on Tuesday and affirmed that this level of support was neither requested nor even discussed by the Gulf states, Iraq, or Jordan.
Regarding political support, he stated that Egypt is maintaining contact at all levels and is in constant communication to reaffirm its full support for its brothers in the Gulf and the Arab states.
Concerning the media, the Egyptian minister said that there have been very few transgressions in the media, across all its components.
Diaa Rashwan, Minister of State for Information, affirmed that the crisis will end and the strong relations between the brotherly nations will remain. He emphasized the strong and historical ties between Egypt and the Arab and Gulf states.
