Egypt's new defense minister meets with Air Force personnel

CAIRO - 17 March 2026: Defense Minister Ashraf Salem Zaher met with Air Force personnel on Tuesday. 

The meeting, attended by Chief of Staff Ahmed Khalifa and senior military commanders, included personnel from airbases across the republic via video conference.

Air Force Commander Amr Abdel Rahman Sakr affirmed that his personnel remain at the highest levels of combat readiness and efficiency to protect the nation.

Zaher, who was appointed in February, emphasized the General Command's commitment to continuously developing the Air Force’s combat capabilities to ensure it remains equipped for all assigned tasks.

Earlier in March, Zaher met with the Second and Third Army commanders and the Central Military Region.
