CAIRO – 16 March 2026:  Egyptian Minister of Labor Hassan Radad met with Lieutenant General Engineer Emad El-Din Mustafa Adawi, Ambassador of Sudan to Egypt, at his office at the ministry’s headquarters in the New Administrative Capital. The meeting aimed to strengthen cooperation between the two countries in the fields of labor and vocational training.

At the beginning of the meeting, Minister Radad emphasized the depth and strength of the historical relations between Egypt and Sudan, noting that these ties are rooted in longstanding fraternal and popular bonds. He reaffirmed Egypt’s continued commitment to supporting its Sudanese people in various fields, particularly in development and human capacity building.

The Sudanese ambassador expressed his appreciation to the Egyptian political leadership, commending the facilities and support provided by the Egyptian state to Sudanese nationals residing in Egypt in recent times. He also affirmed Sudan’s keenness to enhance cooperation with the Egyptian Ministry of Labor in order to benefit from Egyptian expertise in vocational training and rehabilitation.

The meeting also discussed ways to strengthen cooperation in training and qualifying Sudanese youth in professions needed by the Sudanese labor market. Discussions focused on benefiting from Egypt’s experience in training-for-employment programs, which would help develop a qualified technical workforce capable of contributing to reconstruction and development efforts in Sudan.

The two sides also reviewed prospects for cooperation in promoting a culture of occupational safety and health in workplaces, as well as exchanging expertise in the digitalization and development of labor inspection systems to keep pace with modern changes in the labor market and promote a decent work environment.

They further discussed the possibility of implementing specialized training programs in several sectors that are prominent in the Sudanese labor market, most notably the construction sector, the food industry and related professions, in addition to sewing and embroidery, with the aim of equipping Sudanese youth with the skills required by the labor market.
