CAIRO – 15 March 2026: President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi on Sunday congratulated staff of Egypt’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs on Egyptian Diplomacy Day, praising their “tireless dedication” to defending the country’s interests.
“I extend my congratulations to the women and men of the Egyptian Ministry of Foreign Affairs, who continue with unwavering determination and steadfast dedication to defend our beloved nation’s interests, preserve its standing, and enhance its presence regionally and globally,” El-Sisi said in a social media post.
This year’s celebration coincides with the bicentenary of the founding of Egypt’s first modern foreign ministry, he stated.
The milestone reflects a “long-standing national diplomatic legacy that has contributed to strengthening Egypt’s international standing over the years,” he added.
El-Sisi wished Egyptian diplomacy continued success in “carrying out its national mission efficiently and effectively, keeping Egypt in its rightful position as a beacon of peace, a pillar of stability, and a heard voice on the world stage.”
Egypt observes National Diplomacy Day on March 15 each year, marking the anniversary of the foreign ministry’s resumption of operations in 1922 after independence from Britain.
