CAIRO – 13 March 2026: The Egyptian Embassy in Lebanon announced that it has coordinated with representatives of the administrative body of the Egyptian Community Association in Lebanon to strengthen mechanisms for providing humanitarian and social support to Egyptian citizens affected by the continued confrontations between Lebanese Hezbollah and Israel following the outbreak or regional war between Iran, Israel and the US.

The Embassy urged members of the Egyptian community in Lebanon to exercise extreme caution and avoid areas of potential attacks and tension, and to follow the security and safety guidelines and instructions issued by the Lebanese authorities.

The Embassy also confirmed that it continues to receive inquiries and requests from Egyptian citizens around the clock through its dedicated WhatsApp number, +961 79029912, as well as emergency calls on the following hotline: +961 76654634. In addition, the Embassy will receive messages on its Facebook page.

Egypt's ambassador to Lebanon, Alaa Moussa, received a delegation on Friday that included representatives of the Egyptian community in Lebanon.

The ambassador affirmed that the embassy is working at full capacity to provide support, assistance, and consular services to all members of the Egyptian community. The ambassador also outlined the procedures the embassy is implementing to ensure continuous and diligent monitoring of the community's situation, a swift response to their needs, and the provision of care for them.

The ambassador listened to the difficulties faced by a number of community members in areas affected by military operations.

According to estimates by the diplomatic mission, the number of Egyptians residing in Lebanon reached 11,300 by the end of 2023, Al Ahram reported.

The fragile ceasefire between Hezbollah and Israel, which was reached on November 27, 2024, collapsed after Hezbollah launched strikes on Israel following the killing of the late Iranian Supreme Leader, Ali Khamenei, in Israeli-US attacks. Israel, which had repeatedly violated the ceasefire, responded with heavy strikes on southern Lebanon. Since then, attacks between the two sides have not stopped.

The Lebanese Health Ministry announced on Friday that the total number of people killed by Israeli airstrikes on Lebanon since March 2nd until March 13th reached 773 individuals, and the number of wounded reached 1,933 others. Meanwhile, the number of children during the ongoing attacks rose to 103 as of March 13, 2026. The number of the injured children rose to 326, the Ministry added. The war also forced 830,441 persons to displace internally.
