CAIRO - 12 March 2026: Prime Minister Mostafa Madbouly emphasized in a Thursday statement that Egypt has exerted every possible effort to avoid a war involving Iran, remaining acutely aware of the grave consequences such a conflict would have on the region.

Madbouly stated that Egypt has collaborated with other nations to avert such a conflict. He expressed Egypt’s full and strong condemnation of the targeting of Arab countries and the “attempts to involve them in this battle.”

He affirmed Egypt’s full support for the Arab nations that have been subjected to “unjustified attacks.”

The Prime Minister is echoing a stance recently reinforced by President Abdel Fattah al-Sisi, who has repeatedly warned that modern warfare inevitably inflicts negative consequences on both combatant nations and their neighbors, particularly as combat technologies evolve.

During recent state engagements, including the annual Armed Forces Iftar held to commemorate the 1973 October War, President al-Sisi noted that “miscalculations” in regional conflicts result in severe repercussions for regional balance, extending beyond humanitarian concerns to fundamental state stability.
