CAIRO- March 9, 2026: Dr. Eng. Salah Suleiman Gomblatt, Minister of State for Military Production, conducted an inspection tour of Helwan Castings Company (Military Factory No. 9) and Helwan Metal Appliances Company (Military Factory No. 360) to ensure the smooth progress of production processes.

The Minister began his tour at Helwan Castings Company, where he observed the various stages of manufacturing across the production lines and reviewed the operation of the foundries and furnaces. He also followed up on the implementation of ministerial directives issued during his previous visit to the company. In recognition of the workers’ efforts, he directed that bonuses be awarded to employees of Helwan Castings Company who successfully completed several tasks in record time.

The Minister then proceeded to Helwan Metal Appliances Company, where he inspected the showroom for the company’s civilian products. The showroom displays the full range of products manufactured by the company in their final form, reflecting the company’s commitment to high quality and competitive pricing. He also toured a number of production lines, including the Long Life air conditioner production line, and inquired about production rates and performance during the recent period, as well as the latest developments in ongoing projects and the company’s development plans.

During his visits to both Helwan Castings Company and Helwan Metal Appliances Company, the Minister was keen to listen to employees’ suggestions. He personally reviewed the contents of the suggestion and complaint boxes at both companies and directed that one of the proposals submitted at Military Factory No. 360—concerning the development of a production line—be studied and implemented. He encouraged all employees to promptly submit urgent suggestions to management whenever they observe shortcomings that require immediate intervention.

During the field visit, the Minister of State for Military Production also issued directives to review all contracts in the coming period and to establish a mechanism linking raw material supply prices to global market prices. He emphasized the importance of teamwork in fostering innovation and improving productivity, noting that collaboration is a key factor in the success of any institution. He further directed the continued implementation of occupational safety and health procedures, as well as governance and internal audit mechanisms, at both companies.
